The accelerator is now accepting applications!
What if everyone had access to powerful tools for scientific learning and problem solving? Scientific discovery tools — from telescopes to magnetometers — help us answer questions and generate knowledge. But many powerful tools are too expensive or too difficult for non-experts to use. We believe that accessible tools can inspire a deeper interest in science and empower people to indulge their curiosity, explore their backyard, and solve problems relevant to their own communities.
Today, Tool Foundry opened applications for our four-month accelerator, designed to help inventor teams iterate and scale accessible tools. We are seeking applications from high-potential teams with prototypes for low-cost, high-quality, and easy-to-use physical tools for scientific discovery. Read more about the accelerator.
Have questions? Join our informational webinar on April 23
We encourage individuals and teams interested in applying to register for our informational webinar on Tuesday, April 23 at 2:00 p.m. EDT. During the webinar, we will give a detailed overview of the Tool Foundry accelerator and share what we’re looking for in prototypes for physical tools and hardware. Webinar attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions during a live Q&A session. Register today.
Accelerator applications are due by 5:00 p.m. EDT on Thursday, May 30, 2019. We look forward to seeing the tools you’re working on to help drive scientific discovery!
Tool Foundry is a Luminary Labs initiative funded by grants from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and Schmidt Futures to expand access to science.
